Food / Hydration
- You should have a full break fast with fruit, milk, yoghurt and cereal.
- When walking it is advisable to eat energy boasting food, such as cereal bars with chocolate, chestnuts, walnuts, raisins and gs (rich in potassium).
- It is absolutely essential to hydrate your body well, before, during and after walking (drink three glasses of water one or two hours before beginning each stage, two glasses of water 15 minutes before starting and the equivalent of a glass of water approximately every forty minutes throughout all of the stages for a total of two litres of water per day.
- Drink even before you feel thirsty. Drink water to help prevent muscle problems such as cramps.
- Never walk more than 15 km without drinking water.
- Do not drink water from springs or fountains as you do not know if the water is safe to drink.
